Regimen

Effective June 2019 (post BC!)

Plan

  • My hair likes frequent washing. Every 4ish days.
  • While transitioning, I learned that there are some things that my relaxed hair liked/needed that differs from my natural hair. Will need to learn new 'norms' for DCing and protein.
  • No heat for obvious reasons! :)

Products:

  • TGIN moisture rich shampoo and triple moisture conditioner (I LOVE THIS STUFF!)
  • TGIN green tea leave-in or Texture ID spray leave-in
  • Texture ID styling creme
  • TGIN deep conditioning mask
  • ECO Styler black castor & flaxseed oil gel (makes the curls POP!)
  • ECO Styler olive oil gel (for edges)
  • Oil - my hair likes coconut, jojoba and JBCO oils. I use them differently, based on what's needed. Shea butter was too heavy for my relaxed hair but I will try it with my natural hair.
  • I am also using Renewed Hair Co.'s Renewing Hair Elixir

Effective 11-1-2016 (relaxed hair)

Plan
I plan to alternate washing and co-washing every 4 days; DC'ing on shampoo days
Minimal heat; no more than 1-2x per month
Indirect heat or air drying
Will probably primarily wet set as I have very fine hair
Relax every 12-14 weeks. I've figured out that over 14 is just too much for me. Too tough to manage the new growth at that point
Light protein first 2 washes after relaxer and then as needed
Heavy protein as needed

SuppliesOrganix (or OGX) coconut milk shampoo and conditioner
Hair Chemist Macadamia Nut Masque for DC'ing
Aphogee 2 minute reconstructor
Cantu Leave in
Coconut oil
Elasta QP Mango Butter
Shea Moisture JBCO strengthen and grow oil serum (new to me)
Seamless bone combs
No brushes if I can help it
Ouchless headbands or ponytail holders as needed

Nutrition/Supplements
I am already trying to eat better to alleviate some other issues but I will begin taking supplements in addition to my normal biotin
MSM (I have osteoarthritis so I'm hoping to gain benefits of joint and hair health!)
Women's multivitamin
Omega 3
